Christianity and Islam (Muslim response only please)?

I have been trying to find the truth via the bible and research of several christian denominations inc catholic, pentecostal, jehovah's witness,Church of england . The more research I do seeking clarity the more confusing I find the christian message. All of these groups base their beliefs fully on or at least the majority on the bible, yet they have very different views with regards to the trinity, the concept of heaven and hell. The beliefs in Islam seems to be more clear with the limited knowledge I have of this faith. Please give reasons as to how you feel Islam compares to christianity and how you feel your faith has impacted on your life. Thank you

    How Islam impacted my life:

Islam is a way of life in every sense from what to do before you eat to what do when you wake up. Islam is not only my faith but it is a part of me. Praise be to Allah for making me a muslim and I hope He guides you as well.

There are similarities between christianity and Islam:

    Believe in God:

Islam believes in the Oneness of God and christianity believes in Trinity.

    Believe in Jesus:

Islam believes he is the slave and Messenger of Allah.

Christianity believes he is the Son of God or God.

    Believe in the Hereafter:

    Believe in Heaven and Hell.

There are similarities but also alot of differences:

In Islam the one sin Allah can not forgive if you die and do not repent is shirk(sharing partner with Him)

In Islam Allah is not a male or a female. He does not have a gender.

    Please read the Quran.

Islam is the final word of God. And it remains unchanged, so it's far easier to understand. Christianity has had books removed from the Bible and has had other alterations from mistranslating for 2000 years. Therefore there are a lot of versions and it's impossible to get a straight answer.

I will give you a simple solution to yor problems that I have been meaning to give to other people as well.

Follow what is common between the major religions. In that way you are most likely to be safe cause believers in god would not suffer 'eternal hell' (unless they did something really wrong)

Here are some of the rules-

    1.Worship only one god(Monotheism)

2.Do not pray to god through anyone else(like a priest or a saint or a dead person etc.)

3.Do not at all commit Murder, theft, adultery, gambling ,indulging in intoxicants(like drugs ,alchohol etc.),unprovoked retaliation etc.

4.Do not have an image of god even in your mind

Even in hiduism there are religious texts proclaiming one god but says that idol worship is okay but only for people of lower level of connectedness with god.But in other religions this is one of the biggest sins.

Don't ever look to Atheism for an answer.Coz,what if you die and then it turns out that there is a god.Better safe than eternally sorry.

    Peace

[Also(I'm not exactly sure) if you follow what is common between Christians and Muslims (these guys are the most misunderstood people in the world :( ,anyways if you follow what is common your safe in judaism and hinduism and buddhism as well -this is my conclusion from the research i've done in my life]

There is more to it than meets the eye.

Truly some atheists say that religious people are illogical and blind.BUt it is they who are blind. Some believe in aliens having DNA as well without realising the fact that if evolution is all a mistake ,how did the same mistake on another planet also give rise to the same thing -DNA.Many atheist clearly miss out on a lot of things regarding evolution. For if indeed an organism was born out of an accident then no descendants would arise from it since it did not evolve the capability to reproduce(the evolution process itself requires reproduction). The same applies for eating, breathing, excreting etc. all of which would have to have come into existence at the same time else the creature could not exist for long. Therefore all this could not have come by chance.Ponder over this.

I was a Christian for 30 years. I studied the bible, I studied the dogma, I church shopped, all in an attempt to refine my beliefs and come to a better understanding of God. As you have found, so too I found: drastic contradictions in beliefs and practises, every one of them believing their version was the true version. I saw churches doing things they were not supposed to do, encouraging practises that went against what we understand from the bible, and no explanation being given. Asking questions got you the same answer: you must have faith.

During this period of searching, I encountered Islam many times. Eventually I came to see that Islam is a logical religion. For every question, there is an answer, although not every Muslim will know every answer. There are reasons for everything we do that benefit ourselves and the societies we live in.

If you're interested in Islam, drop by your local mosque. They should be able to give you a free paper copy of an English translation of the Quran and may be able to direct you to study groups or events that may interest you, and should be able to answer any general questions you have on the religion.

Muslims believe that if you take a step towards God, He will come running to you. Hopefully this is your first step.

I an ex muslim, I left Islam coz brainwashing did not work for me and my questions were never answered. You say you have very "little" knowledge of Islam & inspite of that you find it more "clear". So I think you will be able to help me out.

    1. Are you sure that Islam will lead you to heaven? Because even THE PERFECT MUSLIM DID NOT KNOW WHETHER HE WAS GOING TO HEAVEN yes you heard me right,

Al-Bukhari 5:266 “By Allah, though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do for me”

    2. When a muslim commits a sin should he/she be punished coz allah already knew & willed it to happen and gave the knowledge and strength to perform that sin. Quran 6:59

    3. If this life is a “test” of the afterlife Quran 6:165,& allah is ALL KNOWING that means allah knows the result, & if it knew that you were going to hell (by its will) & if it still created you, doesn't it further live up to its other attribute, "Most Sadistic"

    4. ALLAH WILL NEVER GUIDE ME (or any other kafir) Quran17:46 And We place upon their hearts veils lest they should understand it, and in their ears a deafness.

Quran16:93 If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people: But He leaves straying whom He pleases, & He guides whom He pleases: but ye shall certainly be called to account for all your actions.

What I want to know here is allah chooses whether it wants to guide me, (in my life it has chosen not to),& if it doesn’t, I go into hellfire, the fuel of which is human bone? At-Tahrim 66:6

    5. About free will, is it free will if your destiny is already written in a record clear Qur'an, Al-An'am, Surah 6:59.

    6. Why did allah create shaitan (satan/the devil)? Quran 2:30 Recall that your Lord said to the angels, "I am placing a representative (a temporary god) on Earth." They said, "Will You place therein one who will spread evil therein & shed blood, while we sing Your praises, glorify You, & uphold Your absolute authority?" He said, "I know what you do not know."

The problem I have with this is, allah deceives people Quran16:93, places burdens on people Quran 2:286, causes people to sin by testing them Quran 6:165, & giving them the strength to sin Quran 6:59, & after this the poor devil gets the blame.

Is the purpose of creating the devil only to take the blame for the nonsense that allah does & get stoned in the annual muslim ritual of “stoning the devil”?

    7. Your prophet was illiterate right? “Those who follow the messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write” Quran 7: 157 then who wrote the quran?, if not muhammad then how did muhammad verify what he was narrating to his biographers or his contemporaries, whether it was exactly what he wanted them to write?

8.Sunan Abu-Dawud: Book 40, Number 4579: Narrated Abu Hurayrah: The Apostle of Allah stood among us & said': 'Beware! The People of the Book before (you) were split up into 72 sects,& this community will be split up into 73, 72 of them will go to Hell and one of them will go to Paradise, & it is the majority group"

Let us see what we understand here, is this why Sunnis are bombing Shi'ite mosques, to be the MAJORITY GROUP?

But still, which one of the sects are correct & which ones are going to hell (there can only be one right one) lets leave that to allah, it is a specialist at throwing people into "Hellfire" and giving them new skin so that they will burn again & again.

    9. Is there ONE QURAN?

The Warsh quran, Qalun quran, al-Bazzi quran, Qunbul quran, al-Duri quran, al-Suri quran, Hisham quran, Ibn Dhakwan quran, Khalaf quran, Khallad quran, al-Duri quran, Abu'l-Harith quran, Hafs quran, Ibn `Ayyash quran, Ibn Wardan quran, Ibn Jamaz quran, Ruways quran, Rawh quran, Ishaq quran, Idris al-Haddad Quran & so on and so forth.

    Also, The following verses differ between the Warsh version (popular in Africa) & the Hafs versions (popular in Middle East) of the Quran: 7:57, 9:37, 2:259, 3:81, 6:96, 1:4, 2:140, 2:125, 3:146, 2:132, 91:15, 2:132, 3:133, 5:45, 2:139, 3:81, 2:259, 2:214, 2:9, 2:184 & 28:48.

A very simple way to find out the Truth, very painfully, is to go to Saudi Arabia carrying a non-Wahabi Quran.

They'll seize the copy and burn it & give you 200 lashes on the spot for the first offense. If you survive that & still insist on being foolhardy, well, you'll literally lose your head over it.

    AND

About the muslims going for hajj with a non wahabi quran is concerned every year there are at least 200 muslims dying in the "STONING OF THE DEVIL" now one wonders whether the muslims are stoning THE DEVIL/ SHAITAN or whether they are stoning the other devil (the one carrying the non wahabi quran).

    10. Does allah make muslims suffer?

Quran 2:286 “On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear”. This shows that allah is placing a burden on muslims, the blind, the lame, the starving, the deformed, YES YES YES, these are its gifts.

    11. There is an authentic hadith saying 999 MUSLIMS

Source(s): out OF1000 will END UP IN HELL Bukhari Book 6 Volume 60 Hadith 265 Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, "On the day of Resurrection Allah will say, 'O Adam!' Adam will reply, 'Labbaik our Lord,& Sa'daik 'Then there will be a loud call (saying), Allah orders you to take from among your offspring a mission for the (Hell) Fire.' Adam will say, 'O Lord! Who are the mission for the (Hell) Fire?' Allah will say, 'Out of each thousand, take out 999.' I ask you, doesn't circumstances make a person good or bad, & when allah provides muslims those circumstances (test for afterlife) that make muslims bad, who is to be blamed muslims or allah? 12. Can Angels cause people to die? The Qur'an attacks those who worship anyone besides God (e.g. angels or prophets) coz those can neither create, nor give life, nor cause anyone to die. But, the Qur'an explicitly states that one angel or several angels are causing certain people to die [Sura 4:97, 16:28, 32, 32:11].

What would you call a religion whose beliefs, practices and followers are being bashed and bad-mouthed in practically every sphere of activity, in almost every corner of the globe, yet it attracts ever-increasing numbers of people?

A Paradox? A Miracle ? Or simply, The Truth: Islam.

The fact that Islam. is the fastest growing religion in the world today, is proof that our Creator has taken it upon Himself to perfect the Truth that He sent all His prophets and messengers with -- from Adam [AS] to Muhammad [SAW].

Studies conducted in the West show that the sheer number of new Muslims is changing the demographic profile of countries all over the world, and not all of them are born into Muslim families. With some 6 million adherents in the United States, Islam is said to be the nation’s fastest-growing religion. One expert estimates that 25,000 people a year become Muslims in this country; some clerics say they have seen conversion rates quadruple since Sept 11.

Ironically for a religion that is routinely bashed for “subjugating” and “oppressing” its female followers, the number of female reverts to Islam.outnumber the males 4:1!

The fact that more and more people are finding their way to Islam., notwithstanding the relentless propaganda, deliberate misinformation and outright prejudice against it, never ceases to amaze me.

How do these people navigate in the darkness to find the light of Islam. in spite of all the obstacles in the way?

The answer is that our Creator has granted each one of us a guiding light -- a pure, undefiled innate nature called the fitrah. Unlike Christians who believe in the doctrine of Original Sin and assert that each baby is born tainted with the sin of Adam’s disobedience to God, Muslims believe that every child is born into a state of purity where it recognizes its Creator and is naturally subservient to His laws.

In his book The Fundamentals of Islamic Monotheism, Abu Ameenah Bilaal Philips writes: Just as a child’s body submits to the physical laws which Allah has put in nature, its soul also submits naturally to the fact that Allah is its Lord and Creator. But its parents try to make it follow their own way and the child is not strong enough in the early stages of its life to resist or oppose its parents. The religion which the child follows at this stage is one of custom and upbringing and Allah does not hold it to account for this religion.

When the child matures in youth and clear proofs of the falsehood of its religion are brought to it, the adult must now follow the religion of knowledge and reason. At this point the devils try their best to encourage him to stay as he is or to go further astray. Evils are made pleasing to him and he must now live in the midst of a struggle between his innate pure nature and his desires in order to find the right road.

If he chooses to follow his innate nature, his fitrah, Allah will help him overcome his desires even though it may take most of his life to escape, for many people enter Islam. in their old age.

Both Christianity and Islam consider Jesus to have been a prophet of their religion. However, whereas Jesus’ teachings have been lost from the creed and practices of most Christians, these same teachings are respected and evident in Islam.Let us look at some examples.

    >>Appearance

1.Jesus was bearded, as are most Muslims, but only the rare Christian.

2.Jesus dressed modestly. If we close our eyes and form a mental picture, we see flowing robes, from wrists to ankles—much like the loose Arabian thobes and the Indio-Pakistani shalwar kameez, typical of the Muslims of those areas. What we don’t imagine is the revealing or seductive clothing so ubiquitous in Christian cultures.

3.Jesus’ mother covered her hair, and this practice was maintained among the Christian women of the Holy Land up to the middle of the twentieth century. Again, this is a practice maintained among Muslims as well as Orthodox Jews (of which Jesus was one), but not among modern day Christians.

    >>Manners

1.Jesus focused upon salvation and eschewed finery. How many “righteous” Christians fit this “It’s not just on Sundays” profile? Now how many “five prayers a day, every day of the year” Muslims?

2.Jesus spoke with humility and kindness. He didn’t “showboat.” When we think of his speeches, we don’t imagine theatrics. He was a simple man known for quality and truth. How many preachers and how many evangelists follow this example?

3.Jesus taught his disciples to offer the greeting of “Peace” (Luke 10:5), and then set the example: “Peace be with you” (Luke 24:36, John 20:19, John 20:21, John 20:26). Who continues this practice to this day, Christians or Muslims? “Peace be with you” is the meaning of the Muslim greeting, “Assalam alaikum.” Interestingly enough, we find this greeting in Judaism as well (Genesis 43:23, Numbers 6:26, Judges 6:23, I Samuel 1:17 and I Samuel 25:6).

    >>Religious Practices

1.Jesus was circumcised (Luke 2:21). Paul taught it wasn’t necessary (Rom 4:11 and Gal 5:2). Muslims believe it is.

2.Jesus didn’t eat pork, in keeping with Old Testament law (Leviticus 11:7 and Deuteronomy 14:8). Muslims also believe pork is forbidden. Christians … well, you get the idea.

3.Jesus didn’t give or take usury, in compliance with the Old Testament prohibition (Exodus 22:25). Usury is forbidden in the Old Testament and the Quran, as it was forbidden in the religion of Jesus. The economies of most Christian countries, however, are structured upon usury.

4.Jesus didn’t fornicate, and abstained from extramarital contact with women. Now, this issue extends to the least physical contact with the opposite sex. With the exception of performing religious rituals and helping those in need, Jesus never even touched a woman other than his mother. Strictly practicing Orthodox Jews maintain this practice to this day in observance of Old Testament law. Likewise, practicing Muslims don’t even shake hands between the sexes. Can Christian “hug your neighbor” and “kiss the bride” congregations make the same claim?

    >>Practices of Worship

1.Jesus purified himself with washing prior to prayer, as was the practice of the pious prophets who preceded him (see Exodus 40:31-32 in reference to Moses and Aaron), and as is the practice of Muslims.

2.Jesus prayed in prostration (Matthew 26:39), like the other prophets (see Nehemiah 8:6 with regard to Ezra and the people, Joshua 5:14 for Joshua, Genesis 17:3 and 24:52 for Abraham, Exodus 34:8 and Numbers 20:6 for Moses and Aaron). Who prays like that, Christians or Muslims?

3.Jesus fasted for more than a month at a time (Matthew 4:2 and Luke 4:2), as did the pious before him (Exodus 34:28, I Kings 19:8), and as do Muslims in the annual fast of the month of Ramadan.

Source(s): 4.Jesus made pilgrimage for the purpose of worship, as all Orthodox Jews aspire to do. The Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca is well known, and is alluded to in the Bible (see The First and Final Commandment). >>Matters of Creed 1.Jesus taught the oneness of God (Mark 12:29-30, Matthew 22:37 and Luke 10:27), as conveyed in the first commandment (Exodus 20:3). Nowhere did he declare the Trinity. 2.Jesus declared himself a man and a prophet of God (see above), and nowhere claimed divinity or divine sonship. Which creed are the above points more consistent with—the Trinitarian formula or the absolute monotheism of Islam? In short, Muslims appear to be the “Jesus freaks” of modern day, if by that expression we mean those who live by God’s laws and Jesus’ example.

    Well,

In Islam every one is responsible for his/her own actions, and no one is promised Heaven (except few exceptions such as Prophets of God). We believe all Prophets of God are human, no more, no less, they may have had miracles, which they only perform by the will of God. Islam preaches Monotheism at it's purest, making a partner with God is the largest sin (Polytheism while you are Muslim) in Islam. Finally we believe in the Mercy and Grace of God, he forgives anything except someone dying in the state of Polytheism.

These are few reasons why I accept Islam over Christianity (I was born Muslim).

    And Allah knows best.
