Christian Music suggestions for a music lover...?
Long story short (sorta): I am attempting to get into more Christian music. I know the music should be more about the message than the sound, but I do want to listen to something that sounds decent. I was thinkging something mellow and maybe even folky. Anything with a piano or keyboard would be nice. I also love acoustic guitar. Bluesy music is also great.
Some music I like (to help you understand what I am looking for):
Florence and the Machine, RxBandits, Bon Iver, Broken Social Scene, Ray Lamontagne, Cold Play, Radiohead, Justin Nozuka, Fiona Apple, James Morrison, Elliot Smith, Postal Service, Say Anything, Mumford and Sons, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Foo Fighters, Imogen Heap, Alicia Keys, Ben Kweller, MGMT etc etc.
I love Glassjaw and The Blood Brothers, but I doubt there is Christian music out there like them.
Any suggestions are welcome. No hate Messages or jerks please. I am looking for serious suggestions. Thanks!

Black rebel motorcycle club and belle & sebastian are both Christian, not technically Christian music, but the lyrics sometimes reflect their beliefs.

Matt Maher, Tenth Avenue North, The Afters, Toby Mac, Mercy Me, and Need To Breathe are really good bands. There are too many to list! The Christian station I listen to is a seattle station but you can stream online at spirit1053.com to check out some different bands. Or check out those bands on youtube. I love the song Healing Begins by Tenth Avenue North and Light up the Sky by the afters. And the song Hold Us Together by Matt Maher. These are contemporary bands. Not like sanctuary type hymns. The ringtone on my phone is This is the Stuff by Francesca Batastelli.

I know A LOT of Christian music, and these are some of the most talented modern artists I know about that fit your description . Listen to every song completely at least once ( That shouldn't be hard though ).
O.k. as far as Folk style music is concerned
Others you might like.
Jesus Culture (composed of lead vocalists Kim Walker, Chris Quilala and the band)
As for Bluesy, I assume you mean "Blue Eyed Blues" not pure Blues, otherwise, you could just go with traditional Gospel (which is where Blues comes from). For Blue Eyed Blues check out Ginny Owens. If you're interested in trying traditional Gospel, go with Mahalia Jackson, The Blind Boys of Alabama James Cleveland etc.
Oh and I approve of the Phil Whickam recommendation above.

Extreme, also known as the guys who sung More than Words, lol
They aren't a christian band. But a couple of the band members are christian and some of their songs are based on those beliefs.
Check out some of these songs...most of them are quite soft and mellow (some of them aren't christian songs, I just threw them in there because I like them, lol. But they are fantastic songwriters, they deserve all the credit they can get.)

Try Red. The lyrics aren't always strictly Christian, but they are very well done. Especially if you like Radiohead...
Also try Phil Wickham. He's awesome. I melt when I listen to him!
