Authors like Kurt Vonnegut?
I'm looking for authors like Kurt Vonnegut, except maybe a bit darker. I like sci-fi and fantasy novels as well, but please no twilight or novels written with a target audience of teenage girls. thanks so much.

Kurt Vonnegut has written a lot of different things in different styles, but if you like his work, try a few of the following:
Aldous Huxley "Brave New World"
Robert A. Heinlein "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress"
Philip K. Dick "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"
If you like to try somethin a little more modern, I'm still awfully fond of many of the cyberpunk and post-cyberpunk authors.
William Golding "Count Zero," "Burning Chrome (short stories)," "Virtual Light," "The Difference Engine"
Bruce Sterling "Crystal Express (short stories)"

Try books by Jim Yoakum, he's got an absurdist slant sort KV-ish. He used to write with oe of the Monty Python fellows. I read Birdbrain and The Myoshi Effect by him and both sorta reminded me of KV.
