You are eligible to attend traffic school if the following apply:

You do not hold a commercial class A, B, or C drivers license;
You were not driving a commercial motor vehicle (as defined in VC 15210(b)) at the time of the offense;
You have not attended traffic school within the past 18 months from violation date to violation date;
You did not exceed the speed limit by more than 25 miles per hour;
The charge does not involve alcohol;
The charge does carry a point count.

    You could call the courthouse and ask about traffic school eligibility. Usually you can't have gone within a certain time (18 months, for example.)

    Be sure not to miss the date on the ticket just because you didn't get a courtesy notice.

    Points vary by state.

    I got a speeding ticket a few weeks ago, and I never received the "courtesy notice" in the mail. The traffic ticket website's FAQ section says to refer to your courtesy notice to see if you are eligible for traffic school. Is there any other way of finding out if I'm eligible?

    Also - I was going 85 in a 65 mile zone. Does anyone know how many points that would be on my driving record?
