Please explain you interpretation or understanding of this quote:

"The pleasure of life is the pain of living; what you take out is replaced by giving."

    To me it means that there is bad in the best of us, and good in the worst of us. There will always be a give and take in human relations, and that each of us has to decide our limits with respect to our individual or interpersonal relations.

    Part one; Who ever wrote this was a masochist, to equate pain, frustration, oppression, fear, boredom the main experiences of living with pleasure requires one sick puppy.

    Part two; obviously never studied the mess humans are making of the environment, the distribution of wealth and political power.

    Sounds good but really it's meaning less. The two part do not relate to each other but they are jammed in to one sentence.
