In a knockout tournament, EVERYONE has a chance (just ask France!).
The top 2 get out of their pool, USA is in the same pool as Aussie, Ireland, Italy and Russia.
All the Yanks need to do is get some patriotism flowing (and of all nations, they should be able to!)
Italy fought against us in the war, are you going to let them get away with that? Of course not!
Ireland sent all of their dumbest people over to be cops in New York, MAKE THEM PAY!
And Russia, well... Russia.
All those years of duck and cover drills, fear of nuclear annihilation, the whole Cuba thing,
What Would JFK Do?
He'd say 'Think not of what my country can do for me, but what can I do for my country?' You can smack some commie heads in rucks that's what.
Then he'd screw Marilyn Monroe, get some JFK!
Hugh Jackman, Russel Crowe, Sam Worthington - Aussies are taking over in Hollywood - blimmin skippies, get them!
If USA can get past the pool (and realistically, it's only one or two big games they need to get up for.
They'll face the winner of Pool D, which is probably going to be South Africa, but COULD be Wales or even Samoa (they beat Wales last time round, and they can beat SA if they have a good day). USA might have a shot at Samoa if they play their biggest game against the Welsh and the Yanks bring their A game.
All of a sudden, USA are in the semis!
There they will probably face New Zealand. hmmm, what to do here.....
Hey, I know, those damn Kiwis won't let US nuclear (or is that Nucular, George W?) ships in their harbours! Get em!
If they pull off the biggest upset in sporting history (and who knows, NZ tends to go to pieces at this stage of a RWC) they could end up in the final.
A final is anyone's game, I have it as either Aussie or England (could be wrong, I am fast losing interest) - Aussie we've dealt with, but England, well, wasn't there some kind of disagreement between you guys a ways back?
Obviously this was all a bit of a laugh, but I genuinely want to see the USA do well, they really play in the spirit of the game, and a good RWC could have HUGE implications for rugby as a sport. A strong US side could really turn the game on it's head.
U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!
