Turks, Kurds, Armenians, and Greeks are all ethnic groups. Cypriots are residents of an island who are either of Greek (80%) or Turkish (20%) ethnicity.
Of the ethnic groups above, Turks, Armenians and Greeks have a home country. The Kurds do not; they are scattered among Turkey, Syria, Iran and Iraq.
I don't like it when people generalize that group X "hates" group Y. There are a lot of people in those groups who hate Turks (and vice versa), but it's not fair to conclude that the entirety of the groups hates Turks.
The animosity that exists comes from the fact that these groups lived or live under Turkish occupation. The Greeks and Armenians were able to free large parts of their people, but the Kurds have so far been unable to form any country.

Armenia was the first country to accept christianity as a state religion (in the whole world). Armenians do not hate the Turks. However, one cannot forget the events of genocide just as the jews cannot forget the atrocities of the holocaust.
1.5 million Armenians were systematically killed in the first genocide of the 20th century. The Turkish government to this day denies the Armenian genocide. This holds Turkey back in a number of ways, both socially and morally.
Firstly, Turkey's membership into the EU will depend on the Armenian genocide recognition. If Turkey does this, then it shall manage to work its way up the moral ladder, just like Germany has by recognizing the genocide of the Jews.Source(s): I just want to let the truth be known
