GOP leadership is holding up Senator Paul’s amendment to protect law-abiding gun owners from the “Patriot” Act
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has come out against a PATRIOT Act amendment proposed by Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) that would rescind the ability of intelligence agencies to access the firearm records of American gun owners.

The GOP is more for Second Amendment rights then the liberals are, but that doesn't mean all GOP politicians are for Second Amendment rights and that all democrats are against the Second Amendment.

True the NRA has their own agenda, and that agenda is to protect the constitutional rights of the people of the US. Now what do you see that is so evil about protecting US citizens constitutional rights??????????

The GOP establishment is for militarism and crony capitalism as far as I can tell. (BTW so are the Democrats). Only a few rogues like Rand Paul, Ron Paul, Mike Lee ... maybe Dennis Kucinich actually sneak through the cracks and stand up for individual rights.

Not really but unlike Al Gore they are smart enough to not actively work against it.
-don't misunderstand me, the NRA is an evil lobbyist organization with their own agenda too. It's always a matter of how much you vision compares to someone else's.

it isn't a party line issue. The MT senators are pro-gun and anti-PATRIOT ACT, and they are democrats.
