My friend died and when I told another friend by email, he never responded?

I also told him I was glad we were friends and wanted him to know in case something ever happened to him.

I thought that we were friends. Two days later he emailed me on an email chain a news article about someone eating too many hamburgers.

Do you think this is really insensitive?

What would you feel/do in my position?

He is uncomfortable and doesn't know how to react.

Yes, that so-called friend was extremely rude, and obviously brainwashed by the food-cop and possibly vegan animal rights movements as well. I'd ditch him if I was you.
