Are gooseberries poisonous when they're still green?

We used to have a bush out in the backyard and I'd eat them all the time when I was a kid. I'd only like them when they were green, because they were sour. I just read a comment on Y!A that said they were poisonous when they're still green. If they are, they can't be super-toxic.

    no theyre edible.

    everything is poisoinous in the right quantity
