Imagine if there was only 6 teams in the NHL right now?

I have heard many people say "of course Montreal won so many Cups,,,there was only six teams in the league at that time".

Ok, we're going to have fun. What we are going to do is have six teams. You get 9 forwards, 6 d-men, and 2 goalies. You must use current players from the NHL. To avoid any hassle about what six teams will be used, we'll call them team A, team B, team C, team D, team E, and team F. Be sure to fill out your lines accurately.

Team A:

Line 1: Superman (center) - Batman (right wing) - Aquaman (left wing)

Line 2: Green Lantern (center) - Robin (right wing) - Flash (left wing)

Line 3: Hawkman (center) - Firestorm (right wing) - Cyborg (left wing)

D-line 1: Sean Connery, George Lazenby

D-line 2: Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton

D-line 3: Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig

Goalies: Bugs Bunny (starter), Daffy Duck (backup)

Do the same for the next 5 teams. Reminder, you don't want to completely load up one team with the best stars. Try to spread them out so the team are equal. After you are done, take a good look at all the talent in your six team league.

Final question: How do you feel about the original six era now? Did you notice how many players wouldn't have a job?

Most thumbs up gets the best answer. have fun building your six team league using the best talent in todays NHL. You can name the six teams any name or city you would like.

What about the Sharks? What do they have to do with this question? Oh, I see. You are trying to enrage me because the Sharks beat my Wings. Very amusing. Well, I hate to burst your bubble but that really doesn't bother me. I have said in numerous questions that I predicted the Sharks were going to win. I even congratulated them. How about this one for you,,,how about them Lightning?

To make things easier for myself, I'm going to assign players to each team based on points from this past season, and go in a snaking order (1st in round 1 would be last in round 2). Each round will be a different position, going in the order I have listed each position, except once the goalies are reached, they will go in back to back rounds. Goalies will go by Wins.

I don't know if hockey is truly the biggest sport in any American city. Hockey is popular in the North and East. It has a strong following in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston, Chicago, Minnesota, and Washington. But I can't say that hockey is more popular than baseball in ANY of those cities. Washington is the exception, but the Redskins are easily the biggest sports team in D.C. The New Jersey Devils don't have great attendance, but the Nets are struggling. Are the Devils bigger than the Nets? I don't have enough knowledge to comment. Perhaps the same question could be asked about Buffalo regarding Sabres and Bills. The Red Wings might have the biggest following in Detroit compared to other American cities, but I'm not sure if it beats out the Pistons and Tigers.
