can i use any hihat controller from other brands such as alesis or yamaha on my roland v-drums?

was wondering if i can use the ALESIS RealHat Pedal or the YAMAHA ELECTRONIC PER HI-HAT CONTROLLER on my TD-3 ROLAND drums. i broke my hihat controler over years of abuse so i wanted to get another brand cuz its cheaper and might be better in the long run. so is it possible?

Yes its Possible I have a Alesis Realhat pedal on my TD-3 It works awesome. And its had no issues since i bought it 6 months ago

An Alesis pedal will work, but a Yamaha won't due to the way they're wired.
