Can I file my 2009 IL. state taxes online through the state site?

I just recently filed my return for 2010....already got the check. Did it online & was pretty simple. I did NOT do them the previous year at all & need to. I'm wondering if I can do the same thing for them? Through the IL site? I'm not finding any answers....

Your past years 2009 income tax return will have to filled out and mailed to the correct IRS and state address. Print 2 copies sign 1 copy and keep 1 copy for your records.

You should be able to get the IL. 2009 copies from the state website online.

Use the search box at the www.irs.gov website for Prior Year Forms, Instructions

    http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/article/0,,id=98339,0...

Forms, instructions and publications are available in PDF format for the years below. PDF files can be viewed and saved using Adobe Reader

Note: fill-in forms are enabled with "document rights" which will allow you to save what you have filled in on your PC. Fill-in forms are not available prior to 1998.

Form and Instruction 1040-EZ Income Tax Return for Single and Joint Filers With No Dependents

    http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040ez--2009.pdf

    http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040ez--2009.pdf

You will have to fill out and the 1040EZ form correctly and completely.

Print 2 copies 1 for your records and 1 that you will have to sign and mail to the correct IRS address that you can find on the last page of the instruction book that you would be using for this purpose.

Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful for your situation and good luck to you with this matter. 05/07/2011

usually only current year returns can be e-filed. May not be true for IL, but most likely you'll have to mail it in.

No. Past year returns must be mailed.
