Hess cycle - enthalpy change given enthalpies of combustion and formation?
the process of lactic fermentation using glucose can be summarized as follows:
C6H1206 ---> CH3CHOHCOOH
calculate the enthalpy change for lactic acid fermentation given the following enthalpies of combustion and formation:
delta Hc (glucose) -2805 kJmol-1
delta Hc (lactic acid) -1364 kJmol-1
delta Hf (CO2) -393.5 kJmol-1
delta Hf (H2O) -285.2 kJmol-1
My problem here is that ive never constructed a hess cycle with the enthalpy of combustion and formation together
I dont even know where to start from ... should I construct one using combustion n formation? can i construct a double hess cycle??
