Is it illegal under the state of Iowa for a 18 year old to drink beer?

I have a cousin who is 18 years old and he started drinking, when his was 12 he started smoking, he father lets him do that anyways

    Yes, it is illegal in all states to drink liquor if you are under 21. Back in 1972 and previous years, you could drink at age 19 in the bars in Iowa. Some states were 18. The Federal Government threatened to stop all state highway funds unless each state adopted the 21 year old age.

    You must be 21 to drink in all states, it is a federal law. So yes, it is illegal in Iowa.
