Do bumblebees nest in the ground?

I have one bumblebee that has been overs about 2 feet off the ground in one area of my yard by my carport. This has been going on for days.

Yes many types of bumblebee's will make their nest in the group in a sunny spot, typically in an old abandoned mouse hole in the ground or a cracked garden wall or hollow pile of rubble/rocks etc.
