I suggest not naming the business after yourself or your initials so when you want to sell it has broader appeal. Think about your target market and what void your trying to fill or niche you're going after. Have the name unique but not over the top, that will hurt you in the long run. If your name is basic then come up with a great slogan that targets or appeals to your demographics, if it's middle to late aged men and women who are busy (working)- make the name and slogan appealing and focused on them.

Use a story board and lay out what your market looks like to figure out a name from there.

Don't forget to check with your secretary of the state and find out the name you finally come up with might be taken... just go online in most states or call.

First of all you have to select a few sources for inspiration. You need ideas as to what you’re looking for.

You can try investigating other company names, to see where they got their inspiration from.

Find words that you like, or that sound as if they relate to your general activities.

Look at your own name, and names of others involved in the company, see if they can give inspiration.

Place names are good too, see if you can become establish based on the name of your area.
