    But both things probably mean nothing.

    1. For the mile, you will have to look into your own program mile expiration policy (Most programs from Asian airlines have a expiration policy that miles earned expires certain time no matter what). In other word, it is possible that you get 20000 miles and it expires without using it.

    Also, 20000 miles should not good enough for a round-trip ticket from Taipei to Malaysia.

    2. For a discounted voucher, it usually require you to buy the ticket in a particular location (like airline website or ticketing office) and in a certain fare class or cabin. It is always possible that with the voucher, you are paying more than what you have to pay with a travel agent.

    When you understand both, you will know what is best choice is.
