List of some cool animals I can use for a project?

I don't need to have access to them, I just need to be able to be able to research them. Please give me INTERESTING ones that won't be boring (i.e. house cat, common toad, etc.) And please list some vertebrates and some invertebrates (if you can, but I need both so I'd prefer you do both).

Update:

Can't be extinct

Sharks are a good one and if you do that one then you should remember to research the 3 different kinds of reproduction they are capable of and their sensitivity to electric fields using thier ampulla of lorenzini.

I think the platypus is cool because it uses electricity to navigate murky water.

Also a great invert is the cuttlefish indeed, cephalopods have the fastest ability to color change because they are the only animal species that have chromatophores directly linked to their brain with nerves. :D

Other options: I would think flying squirrels, lionfish, stonefish, and nudibranchs!! also leafy/weedy sea dragons.

Some invertebrates could be sea fans or

sponges. I find these interesting because

most people would not even recognize

    them as animals.

    Good luck...
