According to Sigmund Freud, personalties have id, ego and superego. Id consists of aggressive and sexual energies. Superego is the source of instinct. Ego is the source of conscience.

Id: part of personality representing aggressive and sexual instincts
Ego: part of personality representing reason, good sense and rational-self control
Superego: part of personality represents conscience, morality and social standards.

Freud said that a healthy individual has an equal balance of id, ego and superego.
