As soon as something better comes along.

I thought VHS, floppy discs and CDs would be immortal when they came out. Sooner or later something better will replace the internet and it will fizzle down about as quickly as it picked up. I don't know, maybe it will be replaced with smart phones or cloud computing or something. If I knew what, I would know where to invest my money in the market.

Heck, even books are becoming obsolete after thousands of years, e-readers are putting book stores out of business.

Internet is going to stay for a while. But maybe in the future we don't need computers to connect. Maybe in the future a device is created which can be placed on the head so you can go virtually on the Internet. Meeting your friends in a virtual world, playing a move or listen to music, all inside your head.

  • I'm sorry, but the Internet is here TO STAY...

(But why didn't you post this in the forum devoted to the Internet?...)

It is as immortal as man. Give it another 350 years.

Probably when man (or man's technology) does...

I can't see people making it *harder* to sell, gather information, and advertise. Ever.
