500 mg glucose in urine, type one diabetic, kidney problems?

I have had some kidney issues with protein leaking into my urine but those were resolved (and there was no kidney damage). Lately I have been feeling very sick and my blood glucose levels have been high. I've been on the phone with my doctors changing insulin levels and trying to get it figured out and all bloodwork came back normal except that I have 500 mg of glucose in my urine. I don't have any ketones. My regular doctor didn't know what to say about this, so my endo is going to call me back sometime. In the meantime, any thoughts? Is it kidneys or diabetes?

A1C is 8.6.

Your a1c is wayyy to high. Clearly your sugars are out of whack, and if they are out of whack your body will release glucose in the urine.

Do you check 3-4 times a day? You NEED to if you are a type one (i check 7 to keep my sugar in good control)

If you are feeling "sick" that is also suggestive of high blood glucose-the diabetes. be sure to drink alot of water along with taking your recomended dose of insulin.

Or, your blood sugar was "high" then it came down and then the sugar was in the urine, but not the blood when they did the blood and urine test.

Nice job on the harrasing the drs on getting your "formula" right. Keep working with them to get good control (an a1c of below 7)

Who will really benefit from this program? The people who have Kidney Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Renal Disease, Renal Insufficiency, Stages 1–4 Kidney Disease, Kidney Failure, Renal Failure, Glomerulonephritis; or even if you don’t know what type of kidney function loss you have, as long as:

You have a Glomular Filtration Rate (GFR) greater than 15ml/min*

You don’t have any other major organ failure

You are willing to make some dietary adjustments and follow my word (but don’t worry, you’ll want to)

If your GFR is below 15ml/min, this program is still beneficial, but it is more for protection, ease of symptoms and providing a better quality of life.

I had a kidney stone while I was pregnant it was horrible, I was in the hospital twice and put on morphine drip. Worst pain ever!

I was told my kidney stone was because I had too much calcium in my body. I was pregnant and increased my calcium like you are suppose too. I was drinking lots of milk, vitamins, and tums for heartburn ( which are calcium). So I had to stop taking all of those things even though I was pregnant.

I discovered this program and I was successful.
