Is Marine boot camp like the movie Jarhead?

Just saw the movie a little bit ago and I rlly like it. Since I have not served in the military I was wondering if the depiction of boot camp that gives in the movie is close to what it is in real life.

I've yet to see a single movie that wasn't a documentary provide an accurate depiction of boot camp.

One of the standing orders is to only talk when in the official line of duty (at least in the Navy). This alone makes for a very uninteresting film.

No. I have been through Marine Boot Camp, and it is nothing like any movie, save for a documentary. That movie is Hollywood-made. I highly doubt any movie producer of any Marine movie has been through Boot Camp.
