You go talk to the owner and request that he repay you for the cost of replacing your dog, if he/she refuses. You call animal control and report a vicious dog. They will then come out, take a bite report, remove the dog and hold him for ten days as a vicious dog. After that, if the owner wants to pick up the dog, they have to pay a hefty fine and get proper fencing to properly secure their dog. If the owner is unwilling to pay the fines, the dog is then euthanized.

If you call the authorities then they may have the pitbull put down. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want it's death on my conscience even if killed my dog. You should talk to the owners of the pitbull and see if something can be arranged. I know that they can't bring your dog back, but they can keep the pitbull from hurting others. Good luck! Bye!

Call your local animal control and file a report with the local police. If you know where the dog lives..give them the address.

Oh, I am so very sorry, I do feel for you. Please report this to the authorities.

What on earth was its owner doing to allow this to happen.
