If you had a choice between...?

1. The US investing 100 billion dollars in national defense to help defend against the next enemy they may be able to kill Americans (when ever an enemy is militarily strong enough to do so in the next 50 years)?

2. Or take that some 100 million and invest in educating America's youth to develop the people who may be able to produce the next great group of inventions that spur economic growth in the US?

(Keep in mind that the US spends 7 times the amount that China spends on defense and no country would dare attack China, but the US also spends far less than most countries on education and our youth lag behind.)

Update:

If you were planning to give the cop-out answer of "neither", you can just move to the next question. Thanks

National defense, at least my money buys something with that answer. The problem with education in this country has nothing to do with money.

Lol we have the highest GDP in the world by a lot, of course its going to less of a percentage. Talk about picking a statistic to bias your point of view.

    Let me help you:

Were 3rd highest in the world in education spending per student. Now what?

Neither is not a cop out for it is the only logical and rational choice given your flawed comparison.

Attempting to make such a weak comparison based on erroneous logic and a lack of factual information is ignorant to say the least.

However by all means keep playing politics. The rest of us will get out there and do the real work while you lounge in you mommy's basement,

Please show me a link supporting your statistic that the US spends "far less than most countries on education"...and the only reason our "youth lag behind" is because they choose to lag behind...they're rude in their class rooms...they don't do their classwork...they don't do their homework...they don't study....How, EXACTLY, will throwing more money at education solve those problems?
