Did God break the Sixth commandment of the Ten Commandments?

If you look in the Bible, there are an amazing number of people that God wants his followers to murder. For example, in Exodus 35:2 God lays down this commandment:

For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.

Think about that how many people work on the Sabbath -- all the employees of Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, Linnens & things, grocery stores, convenience stores, power plants, airlines, hospitals, emergency services and on and on and on. Don't rabbis, priests and preachers work on the Sabbath? God wants all of them dead.

Update:

Then look at Deut 21:18-21. It says:

If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father and mother, who does not heed them when they discipline him, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his town at the gate of that place. They shall say to the elders of his town, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the town shall stone him to death. So you shall purge the evil from your midst; and all Israel will hear, and be afraid.

That is a whole lot of teenagers that we need to kill.

Update 2:

Then there is Leviticus 20:13:

If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them.

All homosexuals need to be killed. What about this:

If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbour, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.

That's a lot of people who need to be killed.

Update 3:

In other words, if we actually listened to what God says, we would need to kill at least half of the people in America tomorrow. After all, Isaiah 40:8 says, "The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God will stand for ever." The word of the Lord tells us to kill half of the U.S. population.

There are two things in this that show you that God is imaginary. First there is the utter stupidity of these verses. Second, there is this fact: If God is an all-powerful being, he would kill them himself. There would be no need for people to do the murdering. These people would already be dead, and Wal-Mart would be closed on the Sabbath through lack of employees.

Update 4:

Notice that believers completely ignore these parts of the Bible. That is because they know that the verses are insane. By acknowledging that their God is insane, they prove that their God is imaginary.

I think that the first one God was talking to the first Christians who were fighting for their religion. I don't think He is considering a job at Wal-Mart to be "work". Work meant something different way back then.

As for the adultery one, when God said that it was to protect women. They had very poor treatment back then and if he had not said that they would have been constantly raped and taken advantage of.

As for the other ones I'm not quite sure what the reasoning is behind that. Help someone?

This is the kind of Sabbath that God wants: God wants us to do good on the Sabbath Day. Do good, are nurses and doctors doing good by caring for the sick?

Mat 12:12 "Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."

Isa 58:6 "No, the kind of fasting I want calls you to free those who are wrongly imprisoned and to stop oppressing those who work for you. Treat them fairly and give them what they earn.

Isa 58:7 I want you to share your food with the hungry and to welcome poor wanderers into your homes. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.

Most PEOPLE don't FOLLOW what GOD says and make their OWN laws isn't THAT the problem? THINK of how different this "world" would be if PEOPLE would HUMBLE themslves and RESPECT GOD for who HE IS and do what HE says...THAT would put a whole lot of PEOPLE in LINE, PEOPLE would think TWICE before they do what is against what GOD says and FOLLOWING GOD'S WORD would be of the NORM - Unfortunately, THAT'S NOT the case and THAT'S WHY the "world" is the way it is NOW..If GOD ALMIGHTY broke HIS OWN commands then HE would NOT BE GOD. HE'S NOT a man that HE should LIE. By the way, MINISTERING isn't LABOR.

The 6th cmdt refers to UNLAWFUL killing or Murder.

Many Countries still execute criminals, that isn't murder. Euthenasia is NOT murder. Killing someone in an act of self-defence is NOT murder.

Jesus defined the 6th cmdt as an act of hatred. A pre-meditated desire to cause significant harm to another individual because you hate them.

Also, if the State executed one rebellious son because of his refusal to listen-to and obey his parents, most other teenagers would quickly buck their ideas up and start doing as they're told.

Would that be a bad thing???

Settle down. You don't have to go to church anymore if you don't want to.
