What is "teetimer.exe" do exactly?

My task manager has a process running called teetimer.exe and sometimes it's running at 42,108K I think this is really slowing my computer down. Just what is it and what does it do and do I really need this running task on my computer

Update:

Sorry wrong spelling, teatimer.exe and if it's got something to do with AVG. should I switch to a different virus program to speed things up? Really need insite on this before I do something I'll regret later...

Teatimer.exe is actually a monitoring program by Spybot Search and Destroy. I have it running all the time. If taking 42Mb of memory is slowing down your computer, you can disable it.

If you mean teatimer.exe I believe it's something to do with AVG (the anti-virus software).
