Is hell real??????????
This whole ''Dantes Inferno'' thing is making the decision to believe in hell or not very difficult, so I'm curious to the opinions of the Yahoo Answers community. I know most of you won't give me a solid answer because you haven't died yet, but any information might be helpful as well.

Hell is not a Bible teaching.
• It is good to do a comparison of the Bible texts in which these words appear original, and come to a correct understanding of its true meaning, I hope this information helps you, read it all. This is the translation of hell in different languages: Sheol (Hebrew), Hades (in Greek), the inferno (Latin) should be translated as Grave (tomb in English) or Sepulchre (in Spanish). How do I know? I leave several translations of Bibles Internet including one in Latin.
• Peter said it was written in Greek:
Acts 2:30-32 (New King James Version)
30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,[a] 31 he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in HADES, nor did His flesh see corruption. 32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.
• Here is read in Greek.
• What is the fulfillment of the prophecy of Psalms (written in Hebrew).
10For You (A)will not abandon my soul to SHEOL;
Nor will You (B)allow Your Holy One to [a]undergo decay.
• Here is direct reading in Hebrew.
• And how is translated into Latin? Read Acts 2:31.
providens locutus est de resurrectione Christi quia neque derelictus est in INFERNO neque caro eius vidit corruptionem (Acts 2:31)
• With what we see that Jesus was in 'hell' three days, but in 'hell' of the Bible is not 'hell' of Dante's Divine Comedy ...
• How should to be fully translated in Spanish? So. Reed:
Acts 2:31 (New International Version 1984, ©1984)
31 Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ,[a] that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay.
• Does the punishment deserved to be perfect? No. Jesus being in Sheol (Hebrew), Hades (Greek), Inferno (Latin), Inferno (Old Spanish), Tomb (modern Spanish), wait to be resurrected.
• So that everyone who can read has shown that 'hell' of the Bible is nothing more than the grave or the grave or the pit.
• And Revelation 20:14 says: the hell you pull into the lake of fire (to destroy)
Revelation 20:14 (New International Version 1984, ©1984)
14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
• Everything is visible and free for those who want to research. And what Jesus said is true:
(John 8:32) and know the truth and the truth shall make you free. "

lol i hate typos too In the book of revelation, it mentions, hell and hades will be thrown into the lake of fire. Now really, can a place of fire be thrown into another place of fire? The concept of hell as a place of torment is not true. How can God make one suffer forever for only a spec in time. Job also requested to be in hell rather than face Gods anger. Really what is being said here. Hell is the grave. The whole point of Jesus and there are 9 recorded resurrections in the bible, to show a when a person dies, they do not exist anymore , only in Gods memory. That is the point to having a resurrection or rising up again. it to live. Basically hell fire is a teaching comes from Babylon. So, your chances are zero. There is no halfway. It is the big ride or nada. God is merciful that he does not want anyone to die. He will not put persons in a place of torment, the wicked however will be destroyed, they will not exist, like many times in the bible it states how a branch is cut off from the tree. it falls and dies. never once does the bible ever say it the branch which was cut keep on giving bad or good fruit and gave root. Like a person, as the bible says again, when a person dies, their thoughts perish, they are not conscious of nothing at all. Bible books Isiah, and Ecclesiastes

Hell is real, but that is only a video game. Hell is eternal torment without Jesus. Also there is no purgatory.
Faith alone in Jesus alone = salvation :)
To be saved all you have to do is believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and accept him into your life. All saved believers are still sinners but when you believe and accept you are forgiven and allowed into the kingdom of God.
Being good, and works do not save, only Jesus saves.
Here is a link that helped me with my salvation, hope this helps you as much as this helped me. :)

No. I defer to NT Wright, world’s leading New Testament scholar, historian, author and former Bishop of Durham.
Wright thinks that medieval imagery of hell, “a literal underground location full of worms and fire,” is part of the problem (Surprised by Hope, p. 175).

Yes, Hell is real. The horrors of Hell are beyond our human ability to comprehend. It's not a joke, or symbolism, or an ancient misunderstanding; it's a place that makes the horrors of this world pale in comparison.

► Hell: an excessive punishment
No... "Hell" is nonsense... Heaven is nonsense...
You have to understand that there is absolutely no evidence for the existence of the 30,000+ gods, goddesses, and other forms of major and minor deities, demigods, nor any of the hundreds of thousands of various other paranormal creatures dreamed up by man in the last 125,000 years humans have had the ability to imagine.
✖ List of Gods:
✖ God Finder
✖ List of deities
You have to understand that Christianity and Islam are new cults in the timeline of all forms of theism so even IF "God" is real, the chances for "him" being the Christian or Islamic god are almost nil.
Then consider that most of what Christians and Muslims see as "Good" are "Sins" or at least frowned upon in other cults and the guess of what is "Real" gets even more cloudy.
In Islam, in the Islamic Theocracies, women are of less value than livestock... It is legal and moral for a husband to brutally rape and beat his wife if she refuses his sexual advances... Their holy leaders actually say that a husband CAN'T rape his wife because she is his and she is just complaining about a "Pushy Husband".
In REALITY, these acts are immoral and illegal...
So in my mind, if anyone should to go to "Hell", it is any people that support such abuses and horrors...
In Christianity, it is seen as Moral and Right to push censorship and educational/scientific repression.
In REALITY, every christian that supports censorship and repression has the blood of every person that would have been saved by the scientific advancements that would have been discovered had they been allowed to continue.
What one culture sees as a "Hell Worthy Offense" is a virtue in another...

Hell is absolutely real. It is the eternal separation from God. The only way to avoid hell is to be born again through the blood of Jesus Christ.Source(s): The Holy Bible
