Can you use wood bowls in the microwave?

I know that glass and ceramic are ok, but how about wood or bamboo?

wood (s) contain moisture and when heated will expand the fibres and cause Tiny steam pockets. potentially destroying the bowl. not really a good idea though you may get away with it a few times.

No. There's always water in the wood, and it will heat - that's how microwave ovens work. Don't put wood in a microwave.

be sure to oil your wooden or bamboo bowls with a good veggie oil or olive oil both inside and out when you use them to cook in.

NO - because they will burn as they are derived from plants
