How to care for a Dwarf Gourami?

I've been planning on having one as a pet, I think they're really beautiful fish and I read that they're also nice beginner fish. I just got my first tank last month, a happy Betta lives inside and he's doing great. But I want to buy another tank! It will probably be a five gallon, since that's all I can fit in my room. My mom doesn't want a fish tank out of the room, or else my sister will bang on the glass and anoy them.

So, any tips and concerns about Dwarf Gourami anyone can tell me?

And I'm looking for personal advice, anything that isn't from a website would be great.

Thanks!

Update:

Oh, I completely forgot about the question I had for the 5g. That's what I get for getting off topic lol! Anyways, before it happens again..

How many could fit comfortable in there? Hopefully two fish?

    Hi

I have 2 dwarf gouramis and they are beautiful fish, I'd say 5 gallon you could probably have one in there, could you get a bigger tank?

These fish are also known to spit water at food above the water surface! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDdfek6qbTI

I feed them a decent flake food and they live with neon tetras and sword tails.

The best thing to do would be to start with the biggest tank you can have, that way you have more flexibility and it's a lot fairer on the fish!

I know you only wanted personal experiences but this site has some good info:

Also fish forums are great places to ask experts their advise, and you get lot's of it too!

I use fishkeepingforum.co.uk and http://www.fishtankforum.co.uk/forum/index.php and always get lot's of advise there.

Enjoy your fish, they are a lovely breed.
