BETA BLOCKERS AND ANTIPSYCHOTICS?
Can Clozaril (Clozapine) cause fast heart rate? Are Beta Blockers safe? If so, what do you recommend. Also. How do they come up with the name of a drug?

Clozapine can cause cardiac arrhythmias and tachycardia (fast heart rate). How long have you been on the medication? If you just started it, you may need to see a Doctor quickly.
Have they prescribed beta-blockers for you? I'm on beta-blockers to regulate my sympathetic nervous system, and it's relatively safe if it is monitored correctly. It can cause fainting due to low blood-pressure and bradycardia, and some other things; but if you start with a smaller dose and work your way up it should be fine.
And here is something about the process of naming drugs. It's quite complicated and every drug receives a chemical name, a generic name, and many brand names. http://annals.org/content/129/8/677.extractSource(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clozapine#Adverse_eff... http://annals.org/content/129/8/677.extract http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beta_blocker#Adverse_...
