I maybe late to answer this but I hope I can give it a shot.

Many people become lazy by making poor choices regarding their priorities.

Most people are lazy because they don't have dream to achieve and even if they claim they have one in life, they have almost no interest in achieving their dream. In another words, they have no burning desire for their dream. The logic is simple: If they badly want to get something, they will start taking action instead of lying on couch all day long.

Some people are lazy is the mindset and lifestyle factor. This is mainly due to how the person is brought up. Most likely, the person is not being taught the value of hard work. Normally this happens when everything is easily available to that person given by the family. When the person is brought up this way, choosing not to work has become a second nature.

And I think one major reason that can bring laziness into anyone's life is when the person starts to feel satisfied with what they have right now. In another word, they are living in comfort zone. They have no interest of getting to the next stage in their life. They prefer to stay where they are because getting out of comfort zone is always perceived as difficult and also associated with uncomfortable feeling.

If you have no worthwhile goal, start thinking of one. Start developing burning desire for your goals. Change a lazy mindset to a productive mindset. Aim for higher goal to move out of your comfort zone. Take more responsibilities other than your own life.

With all these in mind, you can start doing something to stop laziness in your life. The key is to get started even with a small action. It doesn't matter as long as you get started doing something. Start your journey for a better life today !

Hope I help you figure out the reason why...

    Take care my friend!

Laziness is an outward attitude caused by the distortion of inner beliefs of value. For instance, if a child is given too much complementary, without learning the value of reward resulting from an application of effort, this distorts the concept of getting what one deserves.

This common parental mistake, bathed in love and ignorance, has disastrous consequences on the mind. The result is a tangled mess for the person to clean up later in life when independent maturity is gained.

The appearance of laziness, or its related ties of immaturity; inappropriate concepts of responsibility, accountability, structure and priorities becomes quite apparent to the person and others who rely on them, as greater amounts of responsibility pile on to a maturing life.

IMO, there is no such thing as a lazy person, it's just a word people use to judge them... So they can fine and incarsarate you. You was never lazy as a young child were you? You liked to run and play.

People often considered lazy are actually depressed, socially anxious, dealing with stress, and lazy children at age 8-16 have bad, unsupportive, unloving, and selfish parents.

    No such thing as laziness.

Laziness (also called indolence) is a disinclination to activity or exertion despite having the ability to do so. It is often used as a pejorative; related terms for a person seen to be lazy include couch potato, slacker, and bludger.

Despite Sigmund Freud`s discussion of the pleasure principle, Leonard Carmichael notes that "laziness is not a word that appears in the table of contents of most technical books on psychology...It is a guilty secret of modern psychology that more is understood about the motivation of thirsty rats and hungry pecking pigeons as they press levers or hit targets than is known about the way in which poets make themselves write poems or scientists force themselves into the laboratory when the good golfing days of spring arrive."[1] A 1931 survey found that high school students were more likely to attribute failing performance of students to laziness, while teachers ranked "lack of ability" as the major cause, with laziness coming in second.[2]

It is common for animals (even those like hummingbirds that have high energy needs) to forage for food until satiated, and then spend most of their time doing nothing, or at least nothing in particular. They seek to "satisfice" their needs rather than obtaining an optimal diet or habitat. Even diurnal animals, which have a limited amount of daylight in which to accomplish their tasks, follow this pattern. Social activity comes in a distant third to eating and resting for foraging animals. When more time must be spent foraging, animals are more likely to sacrifice time spent on aggressive behavior than time spent resting. Extremely efficient predators have more free time and thus often appear more lazy than relatively inept predators that have little free time.[7] Beetles likewise seem to forage lazily due to a lack of foraging competitors.[8] On the other hand, some animals, such as pigeons and rats, seem to prefer to respond for food rather than eat equally available "free food" in some conditions.[9]
