Why can't we choose where our taxes go?

Instead of the government holding us up every year.

Update:

So on the ballot it says "Do you want a portion of your money to go to Pablo's education?"

or

"Do you want to have running water."

Be a little more specific.

Ya. That would not cause any problems. (sarcasm)

If people chose where their taxes went, that would be a mess and there is no way that could be executed properly which is why we all pay taxes for all government expenses.

Because most people are ill informed on Government Services and alot of people believe SOCIETY TRUMPS THE INDIVIDUAL, which is state run slavery. Sure you can leave, but you can't secede with your land.

It would be nice to have an opt out option. No Service, No Taxation.

I've always wondered the same thing! Really. All of mine would go to military spending.
