McKinney was ranked number 5 in the "Best Places to Live" list by CNN's Money Magazine, making it the highest ranked city in Texas and the only city in Texas to make the top ten.
McKinney stands at the top of the nations safest cities. The McKinney police department was recently awarded for keeping the city orderly. And the McKinney fire depertment is ranked number 1 in the DFW area before the city of Fort Worth.
McKinney is served by the McKinney Independent School District, or MISD, which stands out state-wide, and nationally recognized for it's excellence in curriculum, fine arts, athletics, and technology coarses. McKinney is home to the largest high school in the county, and only employs the highest certified teachers from everywhere around the state.
Mckinny has been the fastest growing city from 2006 to 2009, and is now ranked number 2 on that list, behind it's neighboring city, frisco.
