well before Mubarak stepped down protesters in tahrir square were checking the identities of everybody entering the square there were no such attacks.

the people who attacked her may be Mubarak mobs who took it a chance to do their dirty jobs and as everyone was celebrating the protesters didn't check identities, or maybe they are the ignorant people who was watching the Egyptian state TV that spreads naive lies about the protesters and say they are Israelis,Iranians,..and they gave the credit to people to attack anyone who doesn't look Egyptian and in this case its also Mubarak regime who is in charge of this attack
