Sony PS3 does it really have a PS2 emulator?

I have a PS3 160gb, is it really true?

    Yes it is true, but only the original fat 60GB PS3s have a PS2 emulator. I own one and played God of War and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater on it, works great and can even improve the picture quality slightly.

    emulators are made for machines, like personal computers to run a specific program. for example, there is what we call, epsxe program for PC, that emulates PS1 games to be run on PC. I have tried and tested this freeware and really does run. There are rumors that there is a new version of a ps2 emulator that really runs games for PS2.

    All i know about PS3 is that it can already play past games for ps1 and ps2, so why the need to find an emulator..

    Completely backwards compatible PS3 with all games is the 80GB PS3 that packaged in the MGS4 bundle.
