    Not necessarily. If one uses a large vocabulary then they are most likely smarter than the average person. Like you, for example, use words that the average person does not know the meaning of. This makes you above average for knowing the meaning, and intelligent for using the word in writing. But some people might use the 'thesaurus' tool to help them use big words. So one who writes with a large vocabulary might not necessarily be intelligent.
