You can give it up for adoption, but if he finds out about the fathers registry and puts his name doen then it will not go through. They will then give the father the option of taking the child. Once you sign the adoption papers he has 30 days to put his name on the registry to dispute the adoption. If you sign the papers while you are pregnant you will have better chance of adoption going through because he probably will not know about it. You have 30 days after the baby is born to annull the adoption so you can always change your mind and gives you more time in case you change your mind. If he ends up getting the baby you will have to pay child support. If you do not think he will be a good father and could possibly harm the child you could always tell the judge that and he might go in your favor.
YOU DO NOT NEED HIS PERMISSION UNLESS HE PUTS HIS NAME ON THE REGISTRY I KNOW BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE HIS PERMISSION. I ONLY NEEDED HIS PERMISSION BECSUSE HIS N AX ME WAS PUT ON REGISTRY CALL A AGENCY AND THEY WILL TELL YOU U DO NOT NEED IT. THESE PEOPLE JUST DONT WANT U TO DO IT SO THEY ARE TELLING U THAT U DO. I gave a baby up for adoption in 2005. The adoption didnt go through at first because the father put his name in the fathers registry and I didnt know about it. I ended up convincing him to sign the adoption papers and then it went through. He thought it would make me keep the baby, but once he realized I wouldnt anc that he didnt want to do it himself, he signed the papers. The sooner you sign the adoption papers the better because he only has 30 days to dispute it before he has no say. Dont listen to what others say you do not need his permission unless he puts his nsme in the fathers registry. They were going to go through with the adoption until he put his name on theur.
