Do you seek increased holiness to increase healing of your life?

Or why seek holiness? And what is holiness to you?

To me, God is holiness like in perfection, and qualities of love, peace, etc.

Holiness is sought in Obedience to GOD. Hebrews 12 (Amplified Bible) 14Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.

Revelation 22 (Amplified Bible) 11He who is unrighteous (unjust, wicked), let him be unrighteous still; and he who is filthy (vile, impure), let him be filthy still; and he who is righteous (just, upright, in right standing with God), let him do right still; and he who is holy, let him be holy still.

Daniel 12 (Amplified Bible) 10Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be tried, smelted, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but the teachers and those who are wise shall understand

1 Peter 1 (Amplified Bible) 16For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.

Leviticus 11 (Amplified Bible) 44For I am the Lord your God; so consecrate yourselves and be holy, for I am holy; neither defile yourselves with any manner of thing that multiplies in large numbers or swarms.

1 Thessalonians 4 (Amplified Bible) 7For God has not called us to impurity but to consecration [to dedicate ourselves to the most thorough purity].

1 Peter 1 (Amplified Bible) 15But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living.

Ephesians 1 (Amplified Bible) 4Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love.

Ephesians 5 (Amplified Bible) 27That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such things [that she might be holy and faultless].

Numbers 15 (Amplified Bible) 40That you may remember and do all My commandments and be holy to your God. Romans 6 (Amplified Bible) 22But now since you have been set free from sin and have become the slaves of God, you have your present reward in holiness and its end is eternal life.

Luke 1 (Amplified Bible) 75In holiness (divine consecration) and righteousness [in accordance with the everlasting principles of right] within His presence all the days of our lives.

Psalm 96 (Amplified Bible) 9 O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; tremble before and reverently fear Him, all the earth.

+++"ho·li·ness    –noun 1. the quality or state of being holy; sanctity.

Bible Dictionary Holiness definition in the highest sense belongs to God (Isa. 6:3; Rev. 15:4), and to Christians as consecrated to God's service, and in so far as they are conformed in all things to the will of God (Rom. 6:19, 22; Eph. 1:4; Titus 1:8; 1 Pet. 1:15). Personal holiness is a work of gradual development. It is carried on under many hindrances, hence the frequent admonitions to watchfulness, prayer, and perseverance (1 Cor. 1:30; 2 Cor. 7:1; Eph. 4:23, 24). (See SANCTIFICATION.)

What you suggest is certainly a goal of many people. My Idea of God

is similar to the one you espouse. God, a Changeless Spiritual Being,

is Holiness and Perfection as well as Wisdom, Order and Love.

And - He created man in His Image. Man is thus a mirror Image of God

but unable to change what God created. So man is already holy, perfect

and exactly as God created him. Man can not change what God created

but man can forget his perfection and believe he is a lowly sinner.

So the object is not to be holier so we can be healed - but- to awaken

from the dream world man has created so we can again realize our Divine Perfection.

In the Kalama Sutra, Buddha says.

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it..

Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.

Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.

Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.

Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.

But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.
