What is nearest rail station at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority coming from Charlottesville, VA?

I'm planning to visit DC by car and wanted to avoid parking charges. What is the nearest rail station coming from Charlottesville, VA where I can park the car?

Also what will be the charges for ticket/pass for the rail?

Thanks in advance.

The stations farthest from downtown Washington would be Vienna/Fairfax-GMU (Orange line) and Franconia-Springfield (Blue line). Daily parking is $4.50. Rail fare varies depending on the distance. The maximum one-way fare from either of these stations to downtown Washington is $5.20 during peak-of-the-peak period (weekdays 7:30-9 a.m. and 4:30-6 p.m), based on the starting time of the trip. Fares at other times are lower. Use the trip planner to calculate your fare.

You could also try VRE, Virginia's commuter rail. You can get on at Fredericksburg. From there, the fare to DC is $10.80 one way. Parking is free in a surface lot.
