    The short answer is it didn't. In your question I assume you mean the United States, the war of 1812 was concluded with the Treaty of Ghent on the 24th of December 1814, and one of the agreements that the war should be concluded as Status quo ante bellum. This means that the territories and borders would return to the state they were before the war.
