I'm not a Kiwi, but I have there enough to give you an objective answer. People like Al Somalians, Eritreans, Kenya, Nigerians, Sierra Leones, Ghanians etc, are in an absolute minority in NZ...there may be some silent discrimination against them...but it's mild. These people have come to NZ as refugee or from a troubled background..people understand that and are tolerant...same with Singhlese, Tamils, Indians etc.
Now unfortunately most of the serious crime in NZ has been committed by Maori and Pacific Island origin people, and I would say there is discrimation against them.
There is also mild forms of discrimation against other Asian races..mostly due to a lack of understanding by the locals about Asian culture.
But despite that, NZ is an excellent place to live. There is more overt racism in Australia.
