China censorsing Egypt news?

My friend says he downloaded an English version of Xinhua (chinas government run news paper) and he had this to say about it. "It is really amazing to me that new York times reports that china is blocking searches of egypt for censorship reasons while you can get all the same information off of Xinhua that is on NYT. I mean, I expected to see no news stories on Egypt on Xinhua, but it is all over the world section."

Is China censoring the news about Egypt?
