And I'm not necessarily referring to the trucks since they do have to pass a "safety inspection" which, judging by some of the Mexican trucks I've seen in and around the San Antonio area were inspected by someone with a 1st grade education who was blind in one eye and couldn't see out the other. A lot of them look like they're a wreck waiting for a place to happen.
What really scares me though are the way they drive - if you can even call it driving! I've driven all over this country and in parts of Europe (loved the Autobahn in Germany - no speed limits!) and have never seen such horrible drivers as the ones from Mexico. They haven't been allowed to drive over here all that long, but they're making up for lost time in being the ******* of the highway. I've already lost count of how many times I've been cruising down the freeway on my way to work and all of a sudden one will just decide to cut in front of me - no signals, nothing - and if I weren't on my toes, I'd have been crushed. Most truck drivers are courteous, but not the ones from Mexico, they seem to think they own the highways. Their illegals are working on taking over the country, and with a little help from the truck drivers they might succeed faster than they planned. They'll just wipe us all out on the highways!!
That's not to say all of them are jerks, just the large majority of them. Example: if I'm coming up on an 18-wheeler and he's signalling to get in my lane, I'll flash my lights, slow down a bit and let them in, then they'll flash theirs as a way of saying thanks. With the occasional Mexican who will signal, I'll do the same thing and they'll just keep on going with their blinkers on. Then, when I decide "I'm going to pass this clown" they'll suddenly start to pull in front of me. I've seen this happen countless times, not just to me. It's like they're out to get revenge for San Jacinto and the War of 1848 as well.
Under no circumstances should these taco jockeys be allowed on our highways. The roads are congested enough as it is and there are more than enough bad American drivers. Do we need to add to the mayhem by allowing antiquated Mexican trucks with semi-literate (if that) drivers on our highway system? I think not. Keep them on the other side of the border where they belong.
