Green Card holder traveling to Italy.?

Im a Chinese immigrant with a United states green card. I will be traveling to Italy with a youth orchestra group from June 28 to July 9, 2011. Do i need to do anything as in paper work to go and come back to the united states?

    Yes, you'll need a visa to enter Italy. This Italian ministry website describes the requirements for a visa and the supporting documentation you need to enter the country: . There's a link to the application and contact for the consulates in the US where you need to apply for the visa - you'll have to apply at the one that has jurisdiction over the part of the US where you live. You need your passport and green card to get back into the US.
