Immunity : Lag Between infection & Secondary response?
hi, i have a question
why is there a lag between when there is first a foreign protein / body to when the body starts making specific antibodies against it??
and how does this relate to the spleen?

Lila, No as soon as something foreign invaded the body the white heads that way to try to fight it off, I am a person with Lupus and in our case the white cells in the body can not tell the difference between a foreign body and a good one so the white cells are always attacking the other organs thinking they are bad cells which causes wide spread inflammation and pain. There is no lag time for people with normal immune systems. Have a Blessed daySource(s): Retired Nurse
