Were Nazis really as bad as people say they are?
I just heard Steve Cohen - D go on and on about the Republicans being Nazis. I know a lot of republicans and they are pretty level-headed. I can only imagine that the Nazis were just as level-headed too. Were the death camps a lie? Were the Nazis just normal people, or am I being mislead by a moron Democrat from Tennessee?

Steve Cohen is an idiot. The Nazi party is closer to the left than the right. The left wants government to control everything, from our personal affairs to our business affairs to the overall economy.
Yes, The Nazis were bad. No, most Germans probably didn't agree with what was going on, but they didn't dare speak up and face the consequences.
The answer to this is really very complex. I suggest you do a lot of reading if you want a good understanding of it.
The story of the Nazis is a story that has been repeated throughout history. A country faces a dire situation, and a leader emerges who is seen as a Savior, promising to save everyone from their misery. We saw it in the Soviet Union, in China, in North Korea, in Cuba, and in Venezuela. Ironically, almost all of these dictators are leftists.Source(s): My family is German, and some of my ancestors fought as German officers during WW2.

The Nazis represent the evil in our own society.
Chairmao was responsible for more deaths than Hitler, but it was done a specifically chinese way.
Hitler and the other hand held on many values of our society today.
Nazis did many things.
They were socialists and nationalised many industries (including IBM germany).
They invented the VW beetle.
They gave people hope for a future.
They also promoted the idea of an empire at the time that many European countries had empires.
They promoted racism at a time when Europe was very racist.
The Nazis did lots of things, you can draw pararrels between any group and the nazis (Hitler was a vegetarian, so all your vegan friends are nazis?)
One of the issues with the republican party is the use of propoganda. They perpuate lies to win their agenda (one big lie is they talk about democrats increasing spending, while the republicans spend much when they are in power than the republicans).
They attack different points of view rather than debating or discussing. They complain about the intellectuals and academics.
This whole accusation of nazi thing is a little old and boring.

The top brass are probably the most evil people on the planet as well as any group that would commit genocide. the lowest ranked people in the regime are probably just following orders and are to afraid to make a stand against the evil empire around them for fear of there own death or persecution. So yes the Nazis are bad as they say, they did kill at least 6 million innocent people, they are not the worst though, Stalin's regime committedd murder at a far greater rate than the nazis. At least 20 million murdered, probably more.

If you haven't already seen it, please watch the movie "the boy in the striped pajamas" it shows almost exactly how the prisoners were treated. And the only reason they were killed in such a barbaric way is because they were Jewish. And I'm pretty sure they lightened up on it a bit for the movie's sake.
The Nazis today I guess you couldn't pick out of a crowd, but back then, it was awful They would just kill people for no reason. All because of Hitler who brainwashed the whole lot of them. (learned that term from Harry Potter)
Also, if anybody trys to mix in politics with the Nazis, don't listen to anything they say because they're idiots.

The Nazis of late 1930's and early 1940's Germany were terrible people, ideologically bent on a pure racial society and world domination. They attempted to attain these goals through world war and mass murder.
Anyone who says Republicans are Nazis is a douchebag and a liar if not worse.

Nazis were as bad as everyone says, perhaps worse. There were both death camps and work camps that existed. The Nazis used to be normal people until they were brainwashed by a man who got them out of a terrible economic time.

If you think promoting religious extremism and moralism by persecuting all who do not comply by spying on them and denouncing them as commies and the enemy of your way of life, so that you can establish a system where the workign class work for peanuts and the elite make all the rules is good, then no they weren't that bad.
But if you believe in allowing people the freedom to make their own decisions regardless of religion or moralism, based on their own free will and to what ends they choose to pursue happiness as long as it doesn't victimize anyone else, then yes they were extremely bad.
I find it extremely ironic, that right-wingers who make the same statements against liberals find Hitler's words and actions against Jews a violation of more civil nature of man.

Oh the nazis were lovely, they used to invite blacks to go to their homes for tea and scones and a gossip over such topics as Jennifer Aniston's hair and what Kim Kardashian was having done in surgery this week. Jolly nice blokes.Source(s): It's the white boys they hated.

The Nazis were very evil, they killed Jews and Christians. The left today is becoming more and more like them with their intolerance for Christians and Jews.
