How does one rise up to a CEO as an employee of an organization?

    It takes a lot of little steps and commitment, a bit of luck, a willingness to do whatever needs to be done, education, hard work, full understanding of the business which includes finance, sales, marketing, operations, technology, vision, planning, negotiating skills, etc.

    The little steps start with a thorough understanding of your current position. Taking that understanding and making the group/team/organization better to outstanding and being recognized for success and as a go to person, which could mean getting promoted. Then working your way up. This means you will have to improve yourself, skills, and knowledge along the way. There is no one set means of reaching the CEO level but a good solid education is what will get you started and at a well respected school helps even more as reputation/association doesn't hurt to get you in front of the line.
