In some cities, yes, because the Cubans have literally taken over some areas to the extent that, for all practical purposes, they are IN Cuba, and they conduct themselves as if they own the area and our laws and cultural mores don't apply to them. Of course that's the same thing that happens with all locales overrun by Latinos or Hispanics. Once they obtain a population majority they assume ownership and push everybody else out.

    not exactly a huge number

In the most recent census in 2000 there were 1,241,685 Cuban Americans, both native and foreign born and represented 3.5% of all Hispanics in the US.

They're a problem in that, despite their small size, they do seem to have a fair amount of influence on certain issues. Why else would we still have an embargo of Cuba and the wet foot-dry foot policy? This kind of ethnocentric foreign policy, driven by immigrant communities within the U.S. is a prime reason to be careful about letting any one country or ethnic group get "too much" influence. They place their interests ahead of the U.S.'s as a whole, or worse yet, make their interests our interests (think Israel).

Not at all. Most of us are hard working, very educated professionals who are totally integrated in this society and love and are grateful to this country for giving us refuge.
