I haven't seen the half of these movies, but from what I saw

you see, it's not even the performance that usually matters, performances can be equally great, but the character, the Academy does the same, the actor shares the Award with the character. All actors from your list did their job and played okay, but it's mostly the character that we choose.

who do I think would win

    Actor

    Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca

why: the Academy frigging loves this dude, they'd give him awards for asking what time it is if they could

    Actress:

Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's

    why: same as Bogart's why

but if it was my decision to make

Peter O'Toole for Lawrence of Arabia - a very inspirational character and great performance

Whoopi Goldberg for The Color Purple - same here :))) and I just LOVE her lol, I know you said no favorites, but what the heck!
